EEG
Electroencephalography
Electroencephalography (EEG) is a method for measuring brain waves. Nerve cells generate electrical impulses to pass on information. In certain diseases or states of mind, the signals change. These changes in the brain can be represented by an EEG. Electrodes on the head measure these signals and thus make the mental state objectifiable.
EMG
Electromyography
Electromyography (EMG) is a method for measuring the electrical voltage occurring in a muscle. For example, it can be used to determine whether there is a disease of the muscle or a conduction disorder of the supplying nerve.
The method is used in biofeedback, where (e.g. stress-related) muscle tension can be specifically reduced by real-time feedback.
VR
Virtual Reality
In Virtual Reality (VR) one creates apparent 3D worlds into which one can immerse by using VR glasses and headphones. With this technology it is possible to represent the most different scenarios virtually but very realistically and to move within them.
Especially in combination with EEG or EMG technology, stress situations can be simulated and specifically trained.
