By now, everyone has probably come across this term – biohacking.
But what exactly is behind it, and can it really help you live to be 180?

In short, biohacking is a form of “do-it-yourself biology”. It combines biology with technology that is sometimes state of the art in order to optimise the human body.
The idea is to “hack” the system known as the “human body”, much like a computer, using various tricks and tools, and thereby achieve greater performance and well-being.

Biohacking thus aims to enable you to function at the best possible level physically, mentally and emotionally, and so to lead an all-round healthier life. Probably the biggest challenge is to take responsibility for your own life on an ongoing basis.

But what exactly do I have to do to be a “biohacker”?

The first step is to engage a little more with yourself and your body: acquiring knowledge about your own body and putting this knowledge to use.
What do my body and mind need for me to feel good and stay healthy? And what can I do to maintain this state for as long as possible?

Whether it’s nutrition, sport and exercise, sleep, red light therapy, cold baths, oxygen chambers or even neurofeedback – the ways of getting closer to the best version of yourself, in small or big steps, seem to be growing by the day.

But here too, you don’t have to jump on every trend – more isn’t always better! Who knows whether Dave Asprey, the founder of the biohacking trend, will really live to be 180 and whether this will help him lead a fulfilled life.
